Warning For & About Kings

Proverbs 14:35 – a political leader is going to respond favorably to things that you can do well that serve them, but bringing disgrace upon them will go poorly for you

Proverbs 16:14-15 – a person that can navigate the unexpected and irrational behavior of a human king is wise

Proverbs 20:8 – a ruler or leader is going to examine every case brought before him closely.

Proverbs 25:26-27 – being in the company of a king or other person or high status or authority is opportunity to employ humility and self-awareness

Proverbs 29:4 – a leader should not burden his people with impractical/excessive demands

Proverbs 16:10-15 – a political leader is going to respond favorably to things that you can do well that serve them, but bringing disgrace upon them will go poorly for you

v11 – if a king is going to be perceived as having divine authority, he’d better say godly things

v 12 – crime doesn’t pay with a king (and shouldn’t)

v13 – be someone who’ll say what’s right to a ruler
