Relationships

Preacher:

Personal/Social Relationships – Romans 12:9-21

  1. brotherly love…giving preference (10)
  2. coals of fire – love your enemy (20)
  3. overcome evil with good (21)

  5. put on Christ … no provision for the flesh

Political / Civic Relationships – Romans 13:1-7

  1. subject to governing authorities … no authority except from God
  2. render to all their due: taxes, customs, fear, honor

Family/Marriage Relationships – Ephesians 5:22-33; Ephesians 6:1-4

  1. love between husband and wife
  2. Christ loved the church
  3. Children obey/honor your parents in the Lord
  4. Fathers do not provoke … discipline and instruction of the Lord

Spiritual Relationships – Ephesians 6:10-20

  1. Whole armor of God
  2. Prayer and petition
  3. Encourage each other – Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16

The glorious relationship between Christ and His church.

In Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, the church is set fort as:

  • The body of Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23)
  • The temple of God (Ephesians 2:19-22)
  • The family of God (Ephesians 2:19; Ephesians 3:14-15)
  • The bride of Christ (Ephesians 5:22-32)
  • The “fullness of Him who fills all in all” (Ephesians 1:23)

  1. To get “into Christ” one must first be obedient to Christ by being “baptized into Christ”
